Bahamage

SWBF285

IN KEEPING WITH MY recent pattern, last month I packed up my gear and flew to the Bahamas on a mission for Frontiers International Travel. They need marketing images, and I have a camera, so this is working out really well.

My first stop was at the Delphi Club, on Abaco, where owner Peter Mantle subscribes to the notion that a weather blow-out isn’t all bad when you’re well-fed and sleeping in a nice lodge. Fortunately, the wind didn’t howl the entire time and we had plenty good fishing when the gale passed.

From Abaco, I hopped over to Grand Bahama and met Paul Adams and his crew at North Riding Point. We had some crazy high tides that scattered the bonefish, but we still found enough fish to get the shots we needed. Paul runs a great operation with nice accommodations and miles of flats that see very little traffic.

Thanks, again, to Frontiers for keeping me hopping, and to the staff and guides at the lodges for a great week of photography. Follow these links to see the entire shoot from Delphi Club and North Riding Point.

Great. I was trying to get excited about hitting a trout stream tomorrow – pulling out the base layers and the heavy socks and the gloves – and you have to go and post this. Now I’m ruined. Thanks for nothing.

Oh, and beautiful stuff here, Tosh…damn you.

Always happy to stoke the flats fire, Mike. And if it’s any consolation: tomorrow I’m pulling on layers to shoot Arkansas duck hunters in a forecasted deluge.

Hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving.
