BACK IN EARLY DECEMBER I was hired to photograph a group of duck hunters at their private lodge in Northeast Arkansas. Like most member/guest operations, these gentlemen pour copious amounts of sweat and equity into their game, and the months of November, December, and January are set aside to reap the rewards.
During my visit, they hunted from a massive 8-hole reservoir blind (with a fully equipped kitchen) dubbed “The Condo”. Over two days they decoyed a nice mix of mallards, woodies, pintails, and divers. I mostly lurked in the shadows and captured the action, which included: calling ducks, making biscuits, shooting ducks, perking coffee, fetching ducks, and eating biscuits.
After the hunt I assembled the best shots and published a custom hard-bound coffee table book for each of the members. These are fun projects that I really enjoy shooting. If you have a private lodge, club, boat, ranch, gathering, or special trip that you’d like to have photographed, give me a shout and we can discuss the details. Rates are based upon the number of shooting days and the size of your group.

Beautifully shot, Tosh, and a fine commemorative. I’m bookmarking this post as a fine example of the wide range and types of shots, both closeups and long, that effectively capture a time and place. The mix is wonderful. Thanks!
Much obliged, Mike – hope all is well.
